The Louisville Basketball League was founded in 2008 as a league to find players for the ABA. Touted as "the first and only farm system for the ABA" by its former owner, it will see a future full of changes. The league will be operated under the ABA team, the CRUSADERS.

"The basic idea of the league will remain the same" said Crusader CEO Cliff Todd, "but we expect to improve it in several areas and make it viable to the ABA teams that will use it."
