Kentucky Thunder Point Guard, Stefan Dunn (University of Cincinnati - Clermont) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national player of the year, and was named first-team all-Ohio Regional Campus Conference.

Kevin Listerman, Head Coach of the Kentucky Thunder, served on NKUs coaching staff during the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons, in which the Norse went 46-15. The 2000-01 team advanced to the regional championship game in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Listerman left NKU to become the head coach for Bellevue High Schools varsity basketball team. During the 2002-03 season, Listerman guided the Tigers to a 17-12 record and a conference championship. He was named the Northern Kentucky Division II Coach of the Year.



The following season, Listerman led the boys basketball team at Boone County High School to the regional finals and a 26-4 record. The 2003-04 record was the best in school history.



As a player, Listerman helped NKU make four NCAA Division II tournament appearances and two national championship games. He finished his career as NKUs all-time leader in steals and games played. He received the Paragon Award and the NCAA Top VIII award in 2000 as well as being the NKU Career Achievement Award Winner.



The 1995 graduate of Covington Catholic High School received his degree in biology and secondary education from NKU in 1999 and his master’s degree in education in 2002.



When the NCAA Honors Committee named the NCAA Today's Top VIII Awards for achievement in athletics, academic achievement, and character and leadership, the selections included Drew Brees, football, Purdue University, and Kevin M. Listerman, basketball; Northern Kentucky University,



Also the 2000 NCAA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS IN BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL included Kevin M. Listerman, Northern Kentucky University



Dave Bezold, Head Coach at Northern Kentucky University was asked; Who is the best defensive player you've ever coached?



And replied Either Kevin Listerman, LaRon Moore, or Reggie Talbert.
